Topic: Care Select and HIP

The State of Indiana recognizes the many benefits of having coordinated care for all persons in Medicaid.  As such, the State has implemented a care management program, called Care Select, for the population currently under Medicaid Select and for many of those in our current traditional Medicaid fee-for-service program.

Healthy Indiana Plan (HIP) is for uninsured Hoosier adults between the ages of 19-64.  Parents or caretaker relatives of children in the Hoosier Healthwise program are likely candidates for HIP.

Chris Kern and Sherri Miles will present an overview of the two programs; provide information for eligibility, services provided, and how the programs relate to other State services.

Chris Kern: Worked for a number of companies with contracts in the Indiana Health Coverage Programs including EDS and Myers and Stauffer.  Currently serves as Provider Relations Mgr for MDwise Care Select.  Has a Masters in Business Administration from Indiana Wesleyan University.

Sherri Miles: Worked for MDwise for 15 years with MDwise Corporate and the MDwise Methodist Delivery System.  Sherri is currently obtaining her Masters in Business Administration from Indiana Wesleyan University.  Sherri has a diverse background in both the government and private insurance industries.
