Topic:      The Role of the Clinician in the Virtual Setting

The meaning of the word virtual has changed over time.  Though the early application of “virtual” may have been as a product of the imagination or an effect though not a fact, more often today this word applies to computer-generated and ever expanding to things that really exist within cyberspace, the web, or communities and so on.

Linda Lopez-Boyd will identify the various roles of the clinician as they relate to the virtual setting.  She will review the foundation of the roles of case management and the tools needed for the case manager.

Linda has earned her BSN and MSN—and—as she describes has been in nursing since Florence Nightingale during the Crimean War.

She has been at AmeriChoice in the Lockerbie, Indianapolis, IN area for close to 6 yrs.  She was first the Manager of the Call Center Indiana Chronic Disease Management Program, then promoted to Director of Health Services with oversight of a Care Management Call Center and this year was appointed to the AmeriChoice National Clinical Learning and Development team as a Clinical Learning Consultant with oversight of CA, FL, GA, IN, TX and support to AZ, NJ, NY and TN. Appointed to the AmeriChoice Cultural Competency Team
